What happens if I can't make enough ice at home?
No ice? No worries. We have a trick that works a treat for those that can't access ice regularly. Check out this video!
INSTRUCTIONS: Place 1 part alcohol (eg. Methylated Spirits) to 3 parts water into your ice bag and store in the freezer. If the bag freezes too solid, add more alcohol. If it's too stiff, add more water. You can keep the ice bag in the freezer for regular use.
* If using just ice, do not place your ice bag in freezer after use as the melted ice will freeze solid and you will risk puncturing your ice bag.
Caution: Alcohol has a lower freezing temperature that water so the ice bag will be very cold. You may need a thin layer of material between your skin and the ice bag to avoid an ice burn.

I absolutely love the medium hot and cold compression sleeve for my knee. It makes icing so easy and convenient just taking it out of the freezer after a physio exercise session. It can go straight on the skin without needing to wrap a tea towel underneath and there's no freezer burn on the skin. It's magic. A rehab essential!
So glad I ordered my knee ice pack in preparation for my knee replacement surgery. The ice pack has been a god send. I think the best feature is that it stays in place securely. Thank you for such a great product.
Awesome. Pretty easy to use and effective. I'm recovering from an arthoroscopy on the knee and it helps me to manage inflammation. Glad I purchased it before the procedure.
I absolutely love my Bodyice wrap❣️ I had a knee replacement operation last Thursday and actually used it in the hospital. Physios commented that my knee was not as swollen as others. As I do not tolerate strong pain medication, only Panadol osteo, I found ice was my soothing pain medication. The wrap does not leak and holds sufficient ice to last a few hours. I am already very mobile and able to do all the physio exercises. I just love it❣️❣️
Very fast delivery! I love my ice pack, it's easy to use and affordable! Great for icing my knees and ankles after a long run. Very satisfied with my purchase!
I was given a medium knee BodyICE in hospital after my half knee reconstruction. My friend told me « ice will be your best friend postoperatively ». She was right! I can’t bear to be without it. So I bought a second one to use, once the first one melts. It lasts at least 6 hours indoors. sleep with one on my knee and then when I get up I swap it as the other ones I’ve tried are ineffective and only remain chilled for 30 minutes. I chill it over a pack of frozen veggies so it freezes to fit the shape of my knee😁
This product is excellent. They used it at Epworth Eastern Hospital immediately after my Knee Replacement surgery. So good I ordered from Bodyice - Aust Post messed up the delivery (No fault of Bodyice) but the company sent out a replacement straight away. I am so happy with the service and product that I have and will reccommended it to all my friends/colleagues.
Absolutely love the Bodyice Recovery I ordered. I have been able to use it with and without the holder which has been excellent after my knee surgery.
The entire process of ordering and the delivery was very fast, this meant it arrived before my surgery. It really has been a fantastic, no mess, no water etc way to reduce the swelling in my knee. The strap allowed me to still get around my house, using my crutches, with the Bodyice in place.
I have been using the Recover ice pack for a few weeks now, and I am very pleased with it. The ice pack straps easily around my knee. It stays in place even when I move around and stays cold for a long time. I get a lot of relief from this product
My knee BodyIce has been very good in assisting my fast recovery from a total knee replacement. The cold lasts a long time and is great for reducing the pain. I am only 5 weeks from surgery and already able to turn my knee over on a stationary bike.
Nothing is perfect but Body Ice is as good as it gets.
I used mine after a total knee replacement. Would have been near impossible using plastic bags and pillow cases. Would certainly recommend to anyone as was recommended to me.
I bought after knee surgery the ice cubes did not come through the brace so was a waste of time and money.so no coldness was felt on my knee.
I would not recommend this product
Love this - so easy to use and get on with your day! I used to try strap my ice pack to my limb with a tea towel but it didn’t work so well 😆 This is much more practice and works so well every time
Almost fantastic.
The issue with the knee wrap, is the limited Velcro to attach the strap to the pack. It’s only located at the tip. So when you come to give it a good wrap, 90% of the strap isn’t ‘stuck’ to the pack and ultimately the whole thing becomes unruly / dysfunctional, particularly if you decide to move around at all.
I’ve had plenty of these in the past. This ice pack strap has all the potential to be a great product, but genuinely, this small flaw, is incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
Regards
Gordon
I've badly injured my knee & this ice pack & brace have been a life saver for me!! To be able to anchor a cold pack (that stays cold for longer than a few minutes!!) on to my knee in bed means I actually get some sleep. I've recommended this to a few friends now👌 brilliant product!!
Used the BodyIce medium ice pack while recovering from ACL surgery.
So convenient and easy to use.
Being able to adjust the position of the pack means you can concentrate on the injured areas that need the most attention.
Our BodyICE Recovery range is designed to be among the best ice packs for injuries, helping control pain and inflammation for all types of musculoskeletal issues, including sprains, strains, ligament and tendon injuries, and contusions. They’re also highly effective during recovery from orthopaedic surgery and are trusted by orthopaedic surgeons nationwide to reduce pain, minimise swelling, and lessen the need for pain medication.
What's included in the pack?
Each BodyICE Recovery pack includes an ice bag, a joint specific neoprene support and a net carry bag. You can also purchase additional ice bags.
Can I put the ice bag in the freezer?
Unless you have prepared the ice bag using the alcohol solution explained above, then you should not store the ice bag in the freezer. If you do, the melted ice will free solid and you will tear the ice bag when you try to break it up.
Can I use the packs for heat therapy?
Yes, our ice bags are great for heat therapy. Just fill the ice bags with hot tap water (not boiling) and apply with the straps as per normal.
Can I take BodyICE to hospital after surgery?
Yes. Orthopaedic surgeons recommend icing after surgery. All hospitals have ice so you can request your nurse to fill your ice bag for you when you're recovering from surgery in the hospital ward.
Are your ice packs lightweight and portable?
Yes, that's what makes us different! A lot of gel packs and ice blankets are heavy and bulky to travel with. Our simple ice bags with straps weigh less than 500g, which means they travel easy and you can fill with ice any time, anywhere without needing access to a freezer.
What is the best ice pack fro knee surgery?
We recommend our Medium Universal Ice Pack for post-operative knee surgery recovery. It’s designed for ease of use in both home and hospital settings, making it simple for patients or nurses to apply—especially if you’re wearing a knee brace. If you are over 95kg, we recommend the Large Universal for more coverage.
What if I can't make ice?
No ice?

Caution: Alcohol has a lower freezing temperature that water so the ice bag will be very cold. You may need a thin layer of material between your skin and the ice bag to avoid an ice burn.
How do I clean my BodyICE ice pack?
Empty the ice bag after use and allow it to air dry. The neoprene support can be hand washed in cool water with mild soap, then air dried.
How long will the pack stay cold or warm?
On average, BodyICE stays cold from 2-6 hours (with ice) and warm for around 30–40 minutes (with hot water), depending on conditions.
What makes BodyICE the best ice pack for injuries?
Our packs are reusable, mess-free, and designed to stay securely in place with compression — no slipping, no leaks, and no need to hold them in position. They’re trusted by athletes, weekend warriors, and healthcare professionals alike.
How long should I apply the ice pack for?
Apply for 15–20 minutes at a time, allowing the area to return to normal temperature before reapplying. Repeat throughout the day as needed.
What are the best children's ice packs for injuries?
Yes — you can safely use BodyICE directly on the skin for the recommended 15-20mins. For prolonged use, we recommend placing a thin layer of clothing or a towel between the pack and your skin to prevent ice burn or heat irritation.
How are your ice bags with straps different to your gel sleeves?
Our ice bags with straps are a two part system which includes and neoprene support and ice bag. These will stay colder for longer than our gel sleeves. The gel sleeves are made from hydrogel and are a hot/cold compression sleeve that you slip on. It will retain its temperature for a maximum 20minutes. Both are a great options for any kind of injury recovery.
